In a move to keep up with the evolving children’s publishing landscape, Penguin Children’s Books UK has created a new children’s licensing group under the Media and Entertainment moniker. The new division combines the BBC, Sunbird and Ladybird Licensing teams.

Eric Huang will lead the Media and Entertainment group as publishing director. Huang has played a large role in growing Penguin’s share of the children’s licensed book market, making recent acquisitions for licenses such as Club Penguin and Moshi Monsters.

Juliet Matthews subsequently becomes publisher of the BBC Children’s, Ladybird Licensing and Sunbird imprints, overseeing the editorial and design teams as well as maintaining her key role in the BBC joint venture.

Meg Wang has been promoted to editorial director and Rose Gardner has been promoted to junior editor, reporting into Wang.
