Former Disney Consumer Products exec Jon Guerra has joined Wild Planet Entertainment as the company’s first SVP of product development.

Guerra will lead the development, creation and launch of new categories, brands and products for the San Francisco–based toy company.  He will also manage the company’s internal product development/design team and oversee external inventor relations.

Guerra was most recently global creative director of product development for toys and multi-properties at Disney Consumer Products.  During his eight-year tenure at the Mouse House, Guerra worked on games, puzzles, activities, arts & crafts, novelties, sports, wheels, outdoor & seasonal items and youth electronics.

Guerra assumed his new role yesterday at the American International Toy Fair, which is currently underway in New York City.
