Family entertainment producer, distributor and licensor Chorion has sold its preschool series The Octonauts and Gaspard and Lisa to Disney Channel US. Both animated series will premiere on the newly branded Disney Junior block next year.

The program acquisition deal completes an international rollout that started in the UK and France in the fall and is continuing through 2012 across major global territories.

Since launching on CBeebies in October, The Octonauts has struck a chord with its intended audience of children aged four to six. Brown Bag Films is currently developing animation for the show’s second season. Gaspard and Lisa, which debuted on TF1 France this past fall, is animated by Impossible Television.

Chorion will manage consumer products programs for both The Octonauts and Gaspard and Lisa globally.
