Children’s entertainment producer and rights-owner HIT Entertainment has commissioned an eighth season of the CGI-animated preschool series Fireman Sam. Pre-production has started on the 26 x 10-minute new episodes, which are due for spring 2012.
The new series is being produced by China-based digital animation company Xing Xing, which also collaborated on the sixth and seventh seasons of the series.
The greenlit season follows a solid year for Fireman Sam, who recently transition over to CG-animation. Toy company Character Options has also recently launched a new range for the brand.
