Short-form television producer BabyTV is expanding its publishing program in Portugal and Canada through new licensing partnerships with Portuguese publisher Porto Editora and Smart Kids Canada.

Porto Editora will produce a range of book formats that includes story books, activity books and shaped books based on BabyTV characters and IP with a product launch date scheduled for the second quarter of 2011. The agreement was negotiated through BabyTV’s Portuguese licensing agent Popcorn.

As BabyTV’s Canadian publishing partner, Smart Kids Canada will launch a range of early learning interactive BabyTV books also in the fourth quarter of 2011. The range will be spearheaded by a battery-operated interactive book featuring a piano keyboard with number and color-coded musical notes.

A part of Fox International Channels since 2007, BabyTV is distributed on major platforms across Latin America, Europe, Canada, Asia and the Middle East.
