The 12th annual Kidscreen Summit, held last month in New York City, boosted its attendance by 10% this year, drawing a crowd of more than 1,500 global kids entertainment professionals.

More than 300 kids television buyers participated, alongside 875 content producers and distributors. The biggest increase came in international attendance, as 68% of delegates came from outside the US.

The Summit saw greater participation from European companies in general (7% up from last year) and welcomed its biggest-ever group from Brazil, numbering 67 delegates. Attendance from Spain, Sweden and Mexico more than doubled this year, and numbers from the UK and France were both up by significant double-digits this year (30% and 20%, respectively).

This was the first year the part-conference-part-market event was expanded to four day instead of three, offering delegates a better balance for the 40 keynotes, panel discussions, presentations, master classes and networking sessions.

The location and dates for Kidscreen Summit 2012 will be announced soon.
