Boutique animation producer Wizard Hat Productions, recently launched by Pam Slavin, Toni Stevens and Bill Fox, has its next TV show on the drawing board: the preschool cartoon Chicken, Pig, Cow based on the kids’ book series by author Ruth Ohi.
The Toronto-based prodco is developing its cartoon from Chicken, Pig, Cow published in 2008 by Annick Press and the first of four books in the book series.
Wizard Hat late last year unveiled plans to shoot 26 half-hours of a tween-targeting, CGI-animated show based on the Grim Hill book series, launched by Lobster Press in 2007.
The indie producer is looking to produce programming for the global market, with a target audience of preschoolers and tweens, and a focus on animated comedies for six- to 11-year-olds.
