IDW Publishing and Nickelodeon have inked a long-term agreement to produce all-new installments of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and graphic novels.

Beginning this summer, IDW will release new comics with the goal of bringing the IP to a new generation. And in Q4 2012, Nickelodeon will bow a new CG series for the franchise.

Created in 1984 by Mirage Studios founders Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles became one of the most popular brands in the world. The new marketing initiatives will include the release of re-mastered collections of the original Turtle comics.
