Toronto, Canada-based stop-motion animation house Cuppa Coffee is looking to develop original IP for the digital space with the launch of its new interactive entertainment arm, Lemon Squeezy Interactive.

Its first project out of the gate is an iOS app based on its Bruno and the Banana Bunch property (pictured), which hits the App Store this spring. The newly formed digital division will focus on mobile and online content, and will be headed up by Cuppa creative producer Brendan Russell.

“While our business model is still grounded in television animation, we are keen to apply our creative expertise towards new ways of reaching the consumer. With 20 producing series content, commercials and broadcast design, we’re in a good position to develop unique properties for the digital space,” said president and executive producer Adam Shaheen in a statement.

Adds Russell, “We’re looking to expand the Cuppa Coffee brand with compelling interactive content that champions great design and intuitive functionality.”

Though the company has yet to comment on future projects, Lemon Squeezy is in the midst of developing an app that incorporates Cuppa’s expertise in stop-motion.
