Mario Santos‘ resignation as MD of HarperCollins Children’s Books UK has prompted a series of management changes at the publishing house.

Ann-Janine Murtagh will take on overall leadership as publisher of the children’s books division. In addition to her publishing role, Murtagh will assume responsibility for the group’s business objectives.

Alison Ruane has subsequently been promoted to associate publisher, where she will be responsible for providing a connection between editorial, sales and marketing. Geraldine Stroud has been upped to PR director and will be responsible for all external relations on behalf of the children’s division. All changes are effective July 1.

After leading the division for the past four years, Santos will depart at the end of June to pursue other career opportunities.
