Former Nickelodeon casting exec Sharon Lieblein is stepping in as VP of casting and talent development at Cartoon Network Studios US.
In this newly created position – which underscores the studio’s growing original, live-action comedy slate – Lieblein will be responsible for identifying, booking and managing talent appearing on Cartoon Network Studios scripted and alternative live-action projects. She will oversee live-action casting for the studio and serve as the executive liaison between talent and the different divisions within the studio and network.
Lieblein hails from Nickelodeon, where she served as VP of talent and casting since 2005. In this capacity, she oversaw all live-action casting for Nickelodeon Networks, including pilots, TV movies, specials and promos. Among her projects were iCarly, Big Time Rush, Victorius, Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh, where she helped discover such talent as Emma Roberts, Lily Collins, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice and Drake Bell. She also oversaw animation casting at the network for two years during her 12-year tenure at the net.
