The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has officially approved the BBC Worldwide and Knowledge Canada joint-venture for BBC Kids.

The licensed channel was previously owned through a joint-venture between BBC Worldwide and Canada’s Shaw Media.

The revitalized BBC Kids channel will be operated by British Columbia-based Knowledge Network and will continue to air programming for young children and youth. A CBeebies preschool programming block will also be making its debut on the Canadian channel.  Further channel content and programming details will be made available soon.
