Following its recent collaboration with the National Geographic Society, US retailer Pottery Barn Kids and affiliate PBteen are launching an educational rewards campaign  called Gear Up to Give Back.

The US-based program allows schools to earn up to 4% cash back from the purchase of backpacks, lunch bags and other school essentials at both retailers.

All schools, K-12, can sign up with either Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen or both, and will then receive a membership ID and password to be used at the time of purchase. Schools, parents and PTA members are encouraged to distribute the assigned membership ID and password to friends and family. Once a school is enrolled, all gear purchases made through December 31, 2011 at Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen stores and websites are eligible.

The campaign is timed with a recent study by the American Association of School Administrators that found budget cuts in schools were noticeably more significant for the 2010-11 school year than in previous years.
