Scholastic will launch a special holiday 2011 gift edition of Suzanne Collins’ young-adult bestseller, The Hunger Games, along with three movie tie-in titles that will follow in early 2012.

The Hunger Games Collector’s Edition will be available in November 2011 for US$30 and will include a special slipcase featuring new artwork. Based on the upcoming Hunger Games film, which is currently in production at Lionsgate, the three additional books, The Hunger Games: Movie Tie-In Edition, The Hunger Games: Official Illustrated Movie Companion and The World of The Hunger Games, will be delivered both domestically and internationally in advance of the March 2012 film debut. The tie-in books will range in price from about US$13 to US$19.

Since its initial publication in September 2008, the trilogy of science fiction novels has appeared on The New York Times bestseller list for more than 140 consecutive weeks. More than 9.6 million copies of all three books, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay, have been printed in the US to date.
