Atari files US$30 million counterfeiting lawsuit

Video game publisher Atari has filed a US$30 million federal lawsuit against Tommo Video Game Distribution for willful copyright infringement, trademark infringement and unfair competition related to sales and manufacturing of counterfeit products.

Video game publisher Atari has filed a US$30 million federal lawsuit against Tommo Video Game Distribution for willful copyright infringement, trademark infringement and unfair competition related to sales and manufacturing of counterfeit products.

Atari is attempting to put a stop to the sale of unauthorized copies of the plug and play Flashback 2 console, the successor to Atari’s original 2600 console, manufactured by Tommo. The original Flashback 2 was released in 2005 and contains 40 game titles.
