American Greetings Properties has greenlit production on a new CGI-animated series starring the Care Bears, which is set to debut next year to coincide with the property’s 30th anniversary.
Master partner Hasbro will debut a toy line based on the series in 2013.
The ’80s pop culture characters have reconnected with kids and families over the past decade, with licensed products generating more than US$2.6 billion in global sales since 2002.
