Discovery Communications is launching Discovery Kids Puterbugs, a tech-based program that aims to teach kids under the age of eight how to problem-solve.

The new website DiscoveryKids.com/Puterbugs is also being presented by Imagine Tomorrow, a provider of computer classes for young children.

The program stresses internet and keyboarding skills and investigates the newest forms of tech including mobile apps and cloud computing.

Guided by a real teacher, Mr. Scott, kids take on the role of computer detectives to solve interactive missions. The teacher speaks directly to the child through webcam-style videos and each 30-minute animated mission adapts to a child’s skill level as the adventure moves along.

The deal was brokered on behalf of Discovery Communications by Big Tent Entertainment, the North American licensing agent for the Discovery Kids brand.
