California toymaker Jakks Pacific is expanding its global distribution activities for toys based on the animated boys series Monsuno.
Jakks has inked exclusive agreements with Planet Fun for the New Zealand territory and with Prima Toys for South Africa.
Nickelodeon is currently driving worldwide content distribution with partners including FremantleMedia Enterprises, Dentsu and Topps.
Planet Fun and Prima Toys join the roster of international distributors for Monsuno toys, which also includes the Giochi Preziosi Group for Europe and Hunter Products for Australia.
The Jakks toy line, based on the series that’s aimed at boys ages six to 11, features kid-controlled action figures, accessories, playsets, collectables, electronics and integrated role play. The products are expected to first hit US retail shelves to coincide with the TV series premiere next spring.
