Harry Potter may be out of theaters but his wizardly teachings certainly aren’t out of mind.
HarperCollins UK has picked up the rights to the new fantasy trilogy from debut novelist Soman Chainani entitled The School for Good and Evil, in which ordinary boys and girls are trained to become extraordinary fairy tale heroes or villains.
The first of three books is scheduled for global publication in spring 2013. A film adaptation of the books has reportedly already garnered studio interest.
The YA fantasy adventure series tells the tale of two girls who are kidnapped from their village by a charismatic storyteller who runs the legendary School for Good and Evil.
Recent writing credits for Chainani include a feature in development for Aardman Animations and a dramatic television series commissioned by Tiger Aspect Productions.
