Cartoon Network Enterprises has inked a partnership with Fifth Sun to bring characters from new comedy Regular Show to a line of screen-printed and embellished t-shirts, thermals, tank tops and fleece that will be exclusive to US retailer Hot Topic.

The deal represents the start of the licensing program for the series that debuted in September 2010 and has consistently won its timeslot for boys six to 11 and nine to 14, according to Nielsen Media Research.

An original animated comedy series, Regular Show was created by J. G. Quintel and features Mordecai, a six-foot-tall blue jay and Rigby, a hyperactive racoon.

The line will be in Hot Topic retail outlets before the end of the month.
