David Beckham, Jessica Biel, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift are teaming with Nickleodeon to recognize socially-aware teens in the third annual TeenNick HALO Awards.

The event, which honors teens who are ‘Helping and Leading Others’ (HALO) through pro-social initiatives, will be hosted by creator and executive producer Nick Cannon. The 90-minute special will air on November 6 on Nick at Nite and on November 7 on TeenNick.

In support of this year’s Awards, Nickelodeon is partnering with DonorsChoose.org on The HALO Effect, a two-week campaign that will translate a user’s online activity into DonorsChoose.org donations. Beginning October 28, site visitors to TeenNick.com will be rewarded with points for engaging with HALO-themed content, which can then be used to help fund project requests from high-need public school classrooms across the country. A gaming extension on AddictingGames.com and a GetGlue check-in sweepstakes will be incorporated into the campaign during the on-air premiere of the special.

Beckham, Biel, Gaga and Swift will each partner with one teen that emulates his or her own social causes. This year’s honorees include a 19-year-old from Alabama who started a tornado disaster relief program, a 17-year-old who stood up to bullying with a teen-run anti-bullying YouTube channel , an 18-year-old who created a mentoring program for young girls like herself,  and a California teen who is striving to make social change in Africa through soccer.
