Random House Children’s Books has released pop-up artist David A. Carter’s new book alongside a companion iOS app, marking the company’s first simultaneous release of a frontlist print book with a digital app.
Developed by Random House-owned Smashing Ideas, Bot Garage is also the first entertainment app produced by any division within the company.
Lots of Bots! A Counting Pop-Up Book is the first title in a new pop-up series by David A. Carter that teaches kids the fundamentals of counting numbers.
The Bot Garage app, which retails for US$1.99, gives readers a chance to build their own customized collections of robot friends, which can be saved and emailed to friends directly from the app. More than 100,000 different bots can be assembled via the app.
