Preschoolers in Central Europe will be seeing a lot more of Peppa Pig after a deal was struck between Chellomedia’s Central European cartoon channel Minimax and Entertainment One Family (eOne).
The TV series will launch in December 2011 in multiple languages including Hungarian, Romanian, Czech, Slovenian and Serbian. In Eastern Europe, Peppa Pig currently airs on TVP and MiniMini in Poland, Ceska Televize in Czech Republic, RTV in Slovenia and Nova TV in Croatia.
The extra exposure will support the current licensing and merchandise activities for the brand. Peppa Pig racked up US$323 million in UK merchandise sales last year.
