The Noddy children’s character, star of the preschool series Noddy in Toyland, is heading into the mobile space thanks to a partnership between brand-owner Chorion, Avanquest Software and France Televisions Distribution.
The trio will publish a Noddy-themed app for the iPhone, iPad and Android-powered smartphones and tablets that will be available in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
Avanquest knows Noddy well. The company developed the preschool video game Noddy in Toyland for the Nintendo DS, and the brand currently holds the number-one license for preschool video games in France.
The 60-year old publishing character has sold more than 250 million books and garnered more than 200 licensees. France Televisions says the extension of the preschool TV series into the mobile space falls in line with its ongoing interactive strategy.
