New Pooh series for preschoolers

Disney Channels EMEA has greenlit a new series based on iconic bear Winnie the Pooh. Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh (18 x five minutes) is set to debut on preschool net Disney Junior's bedtime block in more than 21 countries in 2012.

Disney Channels EMEA has greenlit a new series based on iconic bear Winnie the Pooh. Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh (18 x five minutes) is set to debut on preschool net Disney Junior’s bedtime block in more than 21 countries in 2012.

The new series, produced by Welsh prodco Boomerang Plus and Milan’s Maga Animation Studios, is based on stories from the upcoming Disney Winnie the Pooh book series, also called Tales of Friendship. Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh is set in the Hundred Acre Wood where a storyteller reads tales of Pooh and his friends.

Beth Gardiner, VP of original programming and development for Disney Junior EMEA is the production lead on the series, with Tracy Bowerman as producer and Dirk Campbell as director.
