For the first time since 2009, Disney.com has redesigned its Create site, which currently houses more than 10 million pieces of art that have been viewed more than 100 million times.
The new Create on Disney.com allows users to develop and share original works of art online using app tools to make digital paintings, comic books and animated pets.
The new site now gives users the ability to share artwork via mobile devices and use apps to create and edit videos. A new Video Mashup app, for instance, allows kids to combine video clips, still images and original artwork and make videos and movie trailers. In addition, more than 60 themed apps such as Toy Story Comic Creator and Phineas and Ferb Robotinator are included on the site.
The web redesign is another effort on the part of Disney to boost its digital offerings. The House of Mouse’s publishing division recently launched a social media hub and the company’s mobile division has been busy launching new products and characters.
