They may be Koalas, but things are moving quickly for preschool series The Koala Brothers (78 x 10 minutes) as UK distributor Spellbound Entertainment has locked down a six-year license renewal with UK pubcaster CBeebies for the series (series one to three and a 46-minute Christmas special, The Koala Brothers Outback Christmas).

The long-term renewal will ensure the series, which currently airs at 7 a.m. on CBeebies, is viewed across CBeebies, BBC iPlayer, the CBeebies website and CBeebies Radio.

The Koala Brothers debuted on CBeebies in 2004 and has since been sold to more than 50 broadcasters in 150 territories globally including Disney Channel (US), ABC (Australia) and Super RTL (Germany). The IP’s first app will also launch coinciding with the program’s re-launch on Disney Junior in the US in 2012.
