Timed with the July 20 premiere of the final film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) has announced the launch of a worldwide licensing program based on the movie.

DC Comics master toy licensee, Mattel, has signed up to produce a new Batman toy collection (action figures, vehicles, playsets, collectible figures), a Batman Power Attack line, and a Batman-inspired Fisher-Price range of DC Super Friends Imaginext toy line for younger children.

On the construction toy side, WBCP will work with LEGO, which extended its partnership with WBCP in July 2011, to offer new products for the DC Universe Super Heroes line (construction sets, mini-figures, buildable characters).

Additional licensees on board include Wonder Forge (preschool games featuring DC Super Friends), Sideshow Collectibles (collectibles, art prints, articulated figures), Rubie’s Costume Co. (costumes), Funko (plush, vinyl), Mezco (vinyl figures), and Hornby Hobbies (a Scalextric limited edition Batman Tumbler vehicle).
