The US Toys ‘R’ Us merchandising division has promoted 26-year Toys ‘R’ Us vet Richard Barry to SVP and chief merchandising officer and Lisa Harnisch to SVP and general merchandising manager for toys.
Barry, who was most recently VP and general merchandising manager for Toys ‘R’ Us US, will report to Toys ‘R’ Us chairman and CEO Gerald Storch and be responsible for the toy retailer’s merchandising initiatives in the US including at Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us stores nationwide and the FAO Schwarz flagship store in New York City.
In 2004, Barry served as merchandising director for Toys ‘R’ Us, international, where he managed categories including video games, electronics, and learning toys.
Harnisch, who was most recently VP and general merchandising manager for core toy and seasonal, will report to Barry and be responsible for overseeing the merchandising of the core toy, seasonal and learning product categories. She joined Toys ‘R’ Us in 2002 as a buyer.
