Preschool brand Peppa Pig is expanding further into the kids digital space with help from Ladybird Books, an imprint of Penguin Children’s Books, which have launched the first Peppa Pig Me Books app available from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices.
Using Me Books technology, which launched in 2011, the e-reader appĀ lets kids personalize their favorite picture books and stories, the Peppa Pig Me Books app will see six* of 10 titles appear in digital format for the first time: School Bus Trip*, Tiny Creatures, Peppa Goes Swimming*, George’s First Day at Playgroup*, Fun at the Fair*, Daddy Pig’s Old Chair*, Dentist Trip*, Recycling Fun, Nature Trail and Sports Day.
The app allows parents and kids to read Peppa Pig stories together, record their own narration and sound effects, and save up to three versions of their own recordings.
Ladybird launched the first Peppa Pig app, Stars, in 2010, and brand-owner Entertainment One has secured deals with other developers including interactive game publisher P2 Games which launched its third Peppa Pig app and first for the iPad in August 2011.
