In a move to extend its iconic children’s brand into new channels, the Fred Rogers Company has partnered with licensed t-shirt and apparel wholesaler American Classics in a deal negotiated by Brand Central.

The deal will see the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood brand reach North American and UK retail markets and will include high end apparel and accessories.

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood is the longest-running program on PBS, and continues to air on weekends. PBS has also evolved the brand with the launch of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood preschool series, an animated version of Mister Rogers starring the original Mister Rogers characters, all of whom have grown up and have kids of their own in this new series. It is set to air in fall 2012 on PBS Kids.
