Zodiak Media’s children’s production and distribution arm Zodiak Kids has recommissioned the teen-skewing animated series Sally Bollywood for a second season.

Presales of the 52 x 11-minute new eps have been made with Super RTL (Germany), Disney Channel (France and Germany), France Télévisions and Network 7 (Australia). In addition, CSC Media’s PopGirl TV (UK) has acquired season one and season two.

The new presales add to a growing number of sales for the series including Super RTL (Germany, Austria, German speaking Luxembourg and Switzerland), France Televisions, ABC 3 and Network 7 (Australia), Noga (Israel), Cartoon Network and Boing (Spain), RTP2 (Portugal), Disney Channel (Asia, France, Germany, Italy), RTBF (Belgium), RTS (Switzerland), VRT (Belgium), Jojo (Turkey), RTCG (Montenegro), Prava I Prevodi (ex-Yugoslavia), and Canal + (Poland).

Sally Bollywood, which is co-produced by France-based Tele Images Productions, part of Zodiak Kids, and Australian prodco Three’s A Company, follows the adventures of teenage friends Sally and Dowee MacAdam who run a detective agency for kids. It’s the first animated series to feature an Indian lead-character.

The new season is currently in preproduction with delivery of the US$6.7-million series planned for early 2013.
