Comic book publisher Ape Entertainment has secured a licensing deal with Sesame Workshop to produce a new and original print and digital comic book series in color featuring popular Sesame Street characters.
The educational/entertainment series featuring characters including Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Grover will be available in comic-sized print editions and digest-sized hardcover editions this fall, and the digital editions will reach the Apple App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
The deal sees Ape continue to expand its library of licensed properties which includes the Penguins of Madagascar, Richie Rich (which Ape, Classic Media and iVerse Media brought to iOS devices for the first time in December 2011), Strawberry Shortcake, Casper, and hit game IP Cut the Rope.
