Sun-Mate Corporation’s new entertainment and brand management company SMC Entertainment has appointed Heather Smith Noback as its VP of interactive and digital media.

Coinciding with the hire, the company has also created a new division to oversee online and social media marketing strategies for its brands.

Noback, who jumps over from Encore Software where she managed licensing and business development on top brands including Disney and Carmen Sandiego, will report to SMC’s SVP of licensing, Lisa Streff, and will be tasked with executing brand strategies and leading the licensing and merchandising of categories including electronic toys, interactive gaming and all digital media across SMC’s brands.

Before spending three and a half years at Encore, Noback held stints with companies including DIC Entertainment, Buena Vista Home Entertainment, and Disney.

With its new division to manage online and social media strategies, SMC has also launched a new company website as well as Facebook and Twitter pages for SMC and all of its properties including The Jungle Book, Dance Academy and H2O: Just Add Water. Members of the new division will also report to Streff.

The latest moves follow on the heels of ZDF Enterprises inking a five-year deal with SMC that will see SMC take on L&M and promotional activity throughout North America for popular teen/tween series, H20 Just Add Water and Dance Academy.
