UK-based Chorion has offloaded its second-to-last property as Japan’s Sony Creative Products has acquired the exclusive global master agent rights to animated preschool series Gaspard & Lisa.
The deal sees SCP take over the property from Chorion subsidiary Silver Lining, which managed the IP globally since 2005.
SCP has been handling TV, home entertainment and merchandising rights for Gaspard & Lisa in a number of North Asian territories since it inked a co-pro deal with Chorion in 2009. It also secured the exclusive master license rights for the Japan territory in January 2008.
It now plans to grow the brand and its L&M program internationally.
The series, based on characters from the book series by children’s author Anne Gutman, was developed in 2010 and currently airs in more than 30 countries.
Since it began selling its assets last fall, Chorion only has the Georges Simenon property left to sell.
