Online gaming provider Spil Games has released its inaugural report on the state of online gaming among US tween girls.

Key findings from the State of Online Gaming Among Tween Girls in the US report, which leveraged data from Spil’s US tween girls platform GirlsgoGames and a portion of its 7.6 million monthly US users,  found that tween girls: have significantly increased the amount of time they devote to online gaming (desktop and mobile) per month, find sharing content and being social in an interactive environment to be extremely important, and  iOS devices are their platforms of choice for accessing online games via mobile.

By the numbers, the amount of time tween girls devote to playing games per month has more than doubled from a year ago, from 38 minutes a month to one hour and 18 minutes. And while iOS is preferred, Android is catching up, with 46% of their mobile sessions currently being accessed by an Android device.

Other results revealed that tween girls enjoy creating avatars and dress-up outfits and they create more than 88,000 pieces of content every day. Cooking, dress up and tests/quizzes were also the top three gaming categories.
