Imira closes raft of broadcasting deals for LatAm

Spanish production and distribution company Imira Entertainment has inked new deals for Latin America and Hispanic US networks covering a number of series from its library of third-party content.

Spanish production and distribution company Imira Entertainment has inked new deals for Latin America and Hispanic US networks covering a number of series from its library of third-party content.

For pan-Latin America, pay-TV channel Yups has snapped up the Jonathan M. Shiff and ZDF Enterprises series Scooter, Secret Agent (26 x 26 minutes), and Shaftesbury’s Baxter (13 x half hours) for all territories, excluding Argentina & Brazil, while Discovery Communications acquired season one of Guru Studios´ Justin Time for pay-TV.

In Mexico, Sinking Ship and Breakthrough Entertainment’s Dino Dan (26 x half hours) and Imira’s Sandra, The Fairytale Detective (52 x 13 minutes) have been scooped up by free-TV channel Canal Once, and Televisa has picked up DQ Entertainment and ZDF Enterprises’ The Jungle Book (52 x 11 minutes and one x one hour), which has also sold in Argentina to Canal Encuentro.

Further Latin America deals saw Imira sell Spellbound Entertainment’s The Koala Brothers (39 x 26 minutes) to Venezuela’s TEVES and IMPS’ The Smurfs (163 x 26 minutes) to Nicaragua’s KM Services.

Rounding out the sales, Hispanic USA channel V-Me Media acquired Werner Film and ZDF Enterprises’ live-action series Dance Academy (26 x 26 minutes).
