Disney XD has snapped up the CG-animated series The Jungle Book (26 x 22 minutes) for the US market from brand management company SMC Entertainment, and the series is set to make its stateside debut on June 11.
Series producer DQ Entertainment (DQE), which handles European licensing for the series with co-producers Moonscoop France, ZDF Group Germany and TF1 France, made the announcement.
The latest pickup comes after SMC Entertainment, a division of Sun-Mate, acquired http://kidscreen.com/2011/12/05/smc-entertainment-swings-into-gear/ all North American television, home entertainment, licensing and merchandising rights, as well as all promotional rights, to the series plus a one-hour feature from DQE in December 2011.
