In its efforts to provide more convenient, one-stop shopping experiences in 2012, Toys ‘R’ Us is continuing its US expansion across 13 states that will see the opening of eight new locations and the renovation of 13 existing stores to the side-by-side model with Babies ‘R’ Us.

By the end of 2012, the toyco expects to operate 204 side-by-side stores nationwide, which accounts for nearly 25% of its store base across the country (excluding Toys ‘R’ Us Express and Outlet locations).

Since first launching its integrated store strategy in 2006 by including small Babies ‘R’ Us stores in renovated Toys ‘R’ Us locations, the company now operates 190 side-by-side stores in the US.

The newest locations, in states including California, Florida, New York and New Jersey, began opening in March 2012 and will continue opening through November.

New store features include a buy online, pick up in store offer and a family and friends pick up which means a consumer can designate an alternate person to pick up their order.
