US-based indie producer and distributor MarVista Entertainment has licensed its hit Prank Patrol Australia kids reality series to German broadcaster ZDF.

Prank Patrol Australia, produced by activeTV, is the Aussie version of the original Prank Patrol series from Canada-based Apartment 11 Productions, which airs on Canada’s YTV.

The Australian format was commissioned by ABC Television for its ABC3 kid’s channel and additional broadcasters signed on for the series include the UK’s CBBC (all 39 eps of season two) and Italy’s RAI.

Each week in Prank Patrol, the host, his sidekick ninjas and guest experts help kids pull off the prank of a lifetime on unsuspecting friends or family members.

Prank Patrol Australia now includes 91 episodes in total and was the number one live action show for ABC3 during its debut season, while the second season has doubled that success, boasting a 23% audience share for five- to 12-year-olds across all Free to Air Channels.
