CBeebies has commissioned a second season of animated series Tree Fu Tom, and FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), which co-produces the series, has signed on new international broadcast partners for season one.

Since debuting in March this year, the series aimed at four- to six-year-olds has been a ratings success for CBeebies and the new season is expected to air in 2013.

New broadcasters snapping up season one include France’s Lagardere, Disney for Australia and New Zealand, Israel’s HopTV, Minimax for Eastern Europe,  Korea’s EBS, Brunei’s RTB and Discovery Kids in Latin America territories.

The Daniel Bays-created series, with animation from Blue Zoo Animation, has already been sold to Italy (Switchover Media), Canada (Knowledge Network/BBC Kids), Norway (NRK), Belgium (VRT – Ketnet) and Finland (YLE).

Tree Fu Tom, which is designed to help children’s movement development particularly those who suffer from Dyspraxia, follows the adventures of a boy with magical powers who lives in the world of Treetopolis.

The latest movement for the series follows on the heels of FME inking a deal with European toy distributor Giochi Preziosi for the master toy rights to the series.
