Toronto, Canada-based Brain Power Studio’s new preschool series Fuzzy Tales has a greenlight for a second season from Canadian pubcaster CBC, while Disney Channel Australia picks up the first season.

The Aussie deal was secured by Canada-based kids and family media company Brain Power and distributor Bejuba! Entertainment.

The 50 x five-minute live-action/animated series  won its speedy second commission not long after the CBC debuted season one at the end of last month.

Fuzzy Tales, which is set in Fuzzy Phil’s Pet Shop, puts a modern twist on classic fairytales and nursery rhymes by placing live animals in the roles of characters including Little Red Riding Hood and the Prince. The animals act out the stories after the shop’s customers have left for the day.
