Canadian indie studio Entertainment One has formed a first-look television production deal with Paula Hart and her company, Hartbreak Films.

“The deal with Hartbreak Films represents a significant step forward in our strategy to expand our US family and animation division. Paula is a well-respected producer with a proven track record who understands what it takes to build a hit family entertainment franchise,” said Dumont in a statement.

Under the agreement, Hart will work with eOne Television exec producer Ira Pincus and eOne Family MD Olivier Dumont to develop and produce TV projects, including series and TV movies, for family and animation programming.

eOne will be the worldwide distributor for projects developed and produced under the deal.

Hart is president of Hartbreak Films. She is executive producer of young adult series Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Sabrina the Animated Series. The animated series spawned a successful merchandise program that included video games, apparel, ice cream, and more than 200 book series titles published by Scholastic. She is currently producing Melissa and Joey for ABC Family and Grounded for Nickelodeon.
