Some Thoughts on Kids, Privacy and Data Collection
If you haven't noticed, we love data and the stories it can tell. But the ins and outs of data collection has plagued me my entire career. In the early days of COPPA - the Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act, which went into effect in 2000 - we literally had parents faxing permission forms to our office at Highlights for Children. Today data is a double-edged sword.
