FremantleMedia has announced it will dismantle its FremantleMedia Enterprises arm and create two global stand-alone divisions, one focused on kids and family entertainment and distribution, the second fixed on digital and branded entertainment.
All of FME’s additional digital, licensing, sponsorship and other ancillary activities will be handled within FremantleMedia’s regional production operations.
The reorg sees FME’s global CEO David Ellender take the new title of CEO, FremantleMedia International and Kids in charge of the new distribution, kids and family entertainment division, reporting directly to Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of FremantleMedia.
Sander Schwartz will remain on as president of FremantleMedia’s kids and family group, reporting to Ellender, and a head of the new digital and branded entertainment division has yet to be appointed.
The news comes one day after FME inked a five-year production deal with BBC Children’s that is expected to produce several new kids TV shows.
