Sanrio’s Mr. Men Little Miss brand has picked up new retail partners in the US as well as an order of additional eBooks from Penguin.

Global licensee Loungefly will produce a collection of accessories that includes wallets, handbags, backpacks, laptop and iPad cases, lunch boxes and jewelry. Additional licensees include Age Group for swimwear and board shorts, FAB for stationery, journals, back-to-school and activity sets, Franco Mfg for bedding, bath and furniture, Komar for kids’ sleepwear, and Vandor for novelty gifts and housewares.

Current publishing partner Penguin will move the brand further into the digital space with a series of Mr. Men and Little Miss eBooks, the first 10 of which are available at digital retailers including Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook and Apple iBookstore.

The licensed products will be available for preview this month in Las Vegas.

Sanrio, which owns the iconic Hello Kitty brand, acquired Mr. Men and Little Miss in late 2011 from Chorion.  The brand originated in 1971 in the UK and has grown to encompass 85 characters.
