With Disney’s October 2012 purchase of Lucasfilm for US$4 billion and a crop of  Star Wars films in the works, the stature of the brand and its leading characters is reaching new heights.

So it seems fitting that Darth Vader will be hitting toy shelves this fall bigger than ever in a new Jakks Pacific figurine that measures in at 31″.

The California-based toymaker has signed an agreement with Lucasfilm to manufacture and distribute the Darth Vader figure as well as branded flashlights, play tents and arcade games.

The Darth Vader doll will be the largest articulated action figure portrayal of the iconic villain. The toy also has seven points of articulation as well as Darth Vader’s signature Lightsaber. The figure made its debut today at Toy Fair in New York.
