Canada-based Corus Entertainment kidnet YTV is launching its new original competition show Cache Craze from Toronto’s 9 Story Entertainment next month.
The series will bow March 9, and features family teams of two in each episode searching for virtual caches that are unlocked after they complete physical challenges and go through outdoor obstacles.
“Cache Craze is a new GPS adventure that brings teens and their families together using strategy, wit and fearless enthusiasm. The series not only gives viewers a chance to root for their favorite team during the 10-week competition, but will have them laughing hysterically throughout the outrageous stunts,” said Corus VP original programming, kids, comedy, and drama Jocelyn Hamilton in a statement.
Ryan Horwood (Monster Warriors, Howie Do It) hosts the 10-episode, one-hour series, which takes place across a variety of locations including a forest, an amusement park, an old heritage fort and a downtown city block.
Among the competing family teams featured this season are former NHL star and sports analyst Brad May (pictured) and his 13-year old daughter.
Cache Craze is produced by 9 Story Entertainment in association with YTV. Vince Commisso, Steven Jarosz and series co-creator Kate Rigg are exec producers. Barry David is series producer.
