Entertainment One (eOne) is growing the presence of brands like Peppa Pig in Asia through new broadcast and licensing agreements as well as the appointment of a new territory manager for the region.

Produced by Astley Baker Davies, the preschool series is set to air in Korea this year on the country’s Educational Broadcast System (EBS) and new episodes will begin broadcasting on the terrestrial channel this month.

Entertainment licensing agent Cocoban is on board to represent Peppa Pig in Korea and the first line of merchandise is set to launch in Q4 ahead of Christmas.

The deals with EBS and Cocoban were brokered by Daniela Flower, eOne’s newly appointed territory manager for Asia. Flower will oversee broadcast and licensing across all regions, excluding Japan, for eOne’s portfolio of entertainment properties. Based in Hong Kong, Flower sold broadcast deals for Peppa Pig in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand last year.

Last week, eOne announced plans to expand the Peppa Pig brand within the Russian market  through the daily airing of the animated series on TV channel Karusel and a mass retail roll out slated for this year.
