Media Valley, a production company founded in 2010 by former M6 children’s programming head Natalie Altmann, is heading home from MIPTV with two children’s series in the works.

Created in collaboration with Marzipan Films for TF1, ZDF and Tiji, Zoom the White Dolphin is heading into production with an eye to launch next summer. The CGI series is set in Polynesia and follows the adventures of a 15-year-old boy, his little sister and a wild white dolphin.

Worldwide distribution is handled by SND, and the series will premiere on TF1 in France. TF1 will also handle home-turf video and merchandising rights through its subsidiaries, TF1 Video and TF1 Licences. SND is working to secure new presales internationally, and Media Valley is looking for an international licensing agent.

Zoom the White Dolphin is based on the ’70s series by Vladimir Tartakovsky and Marc Bonnet, and the character was also used for more than 30 years by Nestle in marketing for its Galak white chocolate brand.

Sticking to adaptations, Media Valley will also produce Nicole Lambert’s Triplets (pictured) for France 5. This 78 x seven-minute CGI series is based on a popular comic strip and book series and centers around the everyday adventures of two brothers and their sister as they explore childhood. La Station Animation is on-board as a co-producer.

Published for the first time in the Madame Figaro magazine in 1983, the Triplets property has spawned 23 comic books and merchandising items like toys, stationery, apparel and footwear. It has proven particularly popular in French-speaking territories in Europe and Canada, and the books are also currently being translated for the Asian market.
